Women’s Club of Tyrone Supports Expansion of Women’s Health Services

The Women’s Club of Tyrone donated $22 000.00 to the Tyrone Hospital Foundation to support expansion of women’s health services at Tyrone’s Breast Cancer & Women’s Health Institute (BCWHI).

The BCWHI is expanding its services to include gynecology care. Altoona OB-GYN Associates will begin office hours Oct 20th to provide gynecology care on the Tyrone Regional Health Network campus as part of BCWHI. Funds donated by the Women’s Club of Tyrone are helped to ready the facility and provide equipment for the new Altoona OB-GYN Associates office.

Altoona OB-GYN Associates physicians Patricia Hoyne, M.D., David Lee, M.D., Liang Bartkowiak, M.D., Ryan Zlupko, M.D. and John Kennedy, M.D. will have office hours in Tyrone on a rotating schedule. All of the physicians are joining the Tyrone Regional Health Network medical staff and will perform surgery at Tyrone Hospital.   Altoona OB-GYN’s Tyrone office will be in addition to their office based in Altoona.

Stephen C. Gildea, FACHE, CEO at Tyrone Regional Health Network said the generous donation from the Women’s Club of Tyrone will help give women additional options for gynecology care. “Gynecology is primary care for women and a service that is frequently accessed. I am sure this will be well received by the community.”

The Women’s Club of Tyrone raised the funds to support the BCWHI expansion via their annual 200 Club Raffle Event/Silent Auction held spring 2015.  The Women’s Club conducts the fund-raiser annually to support women’s health services at Tyrone Regional Health Network.
